Thanksgiving week dining roundup

Tuesday
MIO'S - Tried out the new Mio's in Miami Township with the family. Glad to have one closer now than the Milford one. Has a feel that's more similar to the Hyde Park location than the Milford one, with the red and white checkered table cloths and the extra paper one that the kids can draw on (whereas the Milford one is more formal feeling). The food was good. I had spaghetti with marinara and mushrooms - melted mozarella on top adds a nice touch.

Wednesday
ASIAN BUFFET - Took a recording break and Eric and I met up with Nick for lunch at the new Asian Buffet at Cincinnati Mills. I can't help but compare all Chinese buffets to the Chinatown Buffet in Milford, which is my usual. I was mighty impressed with the quantity of different items. Probably double what Chinatown Buffet has. But some items didn't stack up quality-wise. Fried rice and General Tso's Chicken were disappointing. Some good non-Chinese options, and good desserts. Liked the Honey Plum Chicken (which was basically Bourbon Chicken, but a little sweeter). I give it a B+.

Thursday
THANKSGIVING - my favorite meal of the year. The wife's family always goes all out and makes an amazing bunch of turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, etc. A couple nice additions this year were some delicious dumplings, having fluffy dinner rolls in addition to just crescent rolls, and the wife's Pumpkin Cake was pretty awesome.

Saturday
PIZZA HUT - Yep, got my pizza hut fix. They've changed the menu a bit. Got mac and cheese for the child, and it was just a portion of the Tuscani bacon macaroni and cheese, which is decent, but not ideal for little ones. Place still looks like it was forgotten about in the 80's.

Sunday
KANAK INDIA - Met Ben for lunch at this little Indian place in Montgomery, after having quite a time finding much that was open on Sundays. What's up with that? Nothing out of this world, but their small lunch buffet got the job done, with a lot of chicken dishes and good Pokaro. Got my Indian fix for a while, but I'll keep this in mind next time I'm in need of something different for lunch in that area.
