So last week was my first visit to Pearl's Diner in Fairfield in a long time. It was after band practice, and I was sure hungry. I ordered a turkey club sandwich and potato wedges. I was amazed that the waitress actually got the order correct, since after everyone ordered, she went back through it and had managed to have something wrong on every single person at the table. Props to Chris for eating the cottage cheese - you're a braver man than I.
The potato wedges were everything I remember. Tasty and just a whole pile of them - it was like 4 whole potatoes cut up. The turkey club was disappointing. It was all mayonnaise.
This was one week after the famous Jesus-hat-man incident, that I missed and had to hear all about. Mr. Jesus hat was there again! But no incidents this time. I actually thought he was wearing a UK hat until I saw it up close and sure enough, it said Jesus. Needless to say, the atmosphere of Pearl's is in tact. And maybe even enhanced by the fact that there's now a bar next door called Beer:30.
